Scripture Reading for Shavuot

Scriptures for Shavuot - byZipporah Blog

Shavuot is the last of the four Spring Feasts of Yehovah. It concludes the time of rejoicing that makes up the period of counting the Omer. It is a time to remember the goodness of the Lord after the great Exodus from Egypt.

This holiday begins the Wheat harvest and it is a time to celebrate the provision of God. We see God renewing His covenant with Israel at Mount Sinai.

Here is a list of Shavuot scriptures to help you study- the day the Torah was given to us.

Exodus 19 – 20 – The giving of the Torah.

Exodus 34: 22 – Shavuot starts the Wheat harvest.

Leviticus 23: 15 – 22 – Instructions on how to celebrate Shavuot.

Deuteronomy 8: 3 – The Lord tests us to remind us to rely on Him.

Deuteronomy 16: 9 – 12 – A command to keep Shavuot and to rejoice before the Lord.

Deuteronomy 16: 16 – 17 – Shavuot is one of the three pilgrimage feasts.

Jeremiah 31: 31 – 34 – Elohim promises to give us the Holy Spirit.

Ezekiel 36: 26 – 28 – Elohim promises to give us a new heart because of the Holy Spirit.
